A night out...

I will be the first to admit- I am the biggest homebody you will ever meet... Damien and I go on so few date nights because I just hate being away from the kids in the evening- and I hate staying out too late (even though I rarely go to bed early).  On top of being a homebody, going out is expensive... like seriously, really expensive.  On top of anything we buy when we go out (dinner, drinks, movie, etc...) we also have to pay our {fantastic} sitter around $10/hr.  Needless to say my goal is to snarf down food and rush home...

But tonight was different.

We had my mom watch the kids... AND, our friends dropped off their little girl so they wouldn't have to pay for a sitter either.  Deacon was in little boy heaven- a night with Grandma AND a friend?  Damien, nor I, were missed... Which is just fine for me.  Because I was too busy having fun to miss him {too much} either.

Our night out started at Chops- I don't remember the last time I ate so much food... and thankfully I have a great friend who split a huge entree of Alaskan King Crab- SO good.  After a leisurely 2 hour dinner (seriously, when was the last time I was able to eat in peace like this???) we headed to the Cabaret theatre for "A Grand Night for Singing."- a very cute show.

We got home around 10:30 to find Lexy and Deacon camped out in a fort in our living room... and I'm not quite sure who had more fun... us, or them.  Thanks, Nana, for babysitting...

How fun! I'm pretty much a homebody too - which I love, but maybe it is time to go on another date night with the hubby.
