The night of a million pictures...

I've not been too fond of my camera lately... I go through stages where I am attached to my camera everywhere I go- and then the next minute I want nothing to do with the camera... and during those "down times" it gets so bad that even Damien notices, "aren't you going to take a picture of this???"- to which I normally sigh heavily and get annoyed that he won't pick up the camera... but ultimately I know he's right- I should photograph whatever is going on.  Well... I think I might be out of my funk- because tonight alone I took over 90 pictures- in a span of about 2 hours.  The boys (including Damien) were just being very sweet and funny... and honestly it was one of those moments where I wished I was more into videography than anything- especially when Zac decided to run around with a trash can on his head for about a half an hour.  We had a good night... and I love nights like this- where we don't watch the clocks, waiting for that magical bed time of 7:30 to appear on all the clocks... where we enjoy each other, thoroughly, with no little fighting or crying.

And I have to brag for just a moment... Deacon's teacher was talking about how well he's doing in math and reading- and I honestly knew he was excelling in these two areas... but I had no clue how well.  First let me just say that I love how Carden operates- they are able to cater to the needs of the kids and aren't forced to go at one pace.  Deacon and his little group are on page 53 of the FIRST GRADE math book... and they've recently begun the first grade reading book as well.  I knew his homework was getting a little bit harder- though that's hard to even measure since he's never spent more than 10 minutes any night doing it.  I'm so proud of Deacon- not only is he doing well in school- he loves it... and honestly that is so much more important to me than anything else in this world.  He lives for this school- loves the French program, loves P.E. (his absolute favorite) and has made some great friends...
