Don't you wish your Grandma was hot like ours?

My mom left today and we're all so sad... well, I think I'm taking it the hardest out of everyone and Milo is a close second oddly enough (she spoils her Grand-doggy as much almost as much as she spoils her actual grandchildren... no joke). All this time I was really worried about how Deacon would handle her leaving- but he's doing really well today. He's had a few meltdowns and when he thinks about her he says things like, "I wish Grandma was here with me..." or, "Can Grandma come back now?" He's also just very sad when he thinks about Grandma- and that's really hard on me because I try to put on a happy face, but it's hard. I started crying and he asked why I had tears... and when I told him that I was sad about Grandma leaving he said (in a very pathetic little voice), "Please don't be sad mommy..."- which made me want to cry hysterically. Thankfully Deacon is at an age where he is easily distracted by candy and promises of fun things to come... so today I kept giving him M&M's and reminding him that Grammy and Grumpy come next week- which helps a lot (though we don't have the heart to tell him that they're not bringing their pug, Banana, LOL).

As my mom said on the phone... it's just so much harder when she leaves because we genuinely like each other. It's not like she's just here helping and we're putting up with her because it's free help... I really enjoy her company. For the past 2 months I've spent every day with her and every day we laugh and have a good time together... I'm really going to miss that. I'm so lucky to have such a great mom.

So my live-in nanny left me and today we were faced, for the first time, with the task of raising two boys with no outside help... I think we did pretty well. Both boys were bathed and in bed by 8:30 p.m. and both Damien and I were asleep by 10 p.m. Not too shabby.

Thank you, mom, for being an amazing mother and Grandma... all your boys and I miss you tons.

Wow must have been nice to have help for so long! Welcome to the real world of parenting with two! Good luck! I know you can do it! You made it through the hard part with help! Sure you will have some ups and downs but for the most part! They are worth it :)
